Program Coordinator

Job Duties:

Working under the direction of the Camp Director, the Program Coordinator is responsible for the provision of quality leadership, guidance and supervision to staff, campers and counselors in training. The Program Coordinator provides leadership in the development, supervision and management of quality programs in a residential camp setting for children and youth ages 7 – 17 years.

• Participate in recruiting, training, supervising, supporting, evaluating, staff and counselors in training.
• Responsible for day-to-day scheduling, supervising and supporting program staff.
• Ensure up to date and accurate program participants information and co-ordinate program registration and statistics
• Ensure Agency’s Policies and Procedures, operating standards, WCB standards, risk management requirements and general facility safety standards are met and followed.

Qualifications:

Education and Knowledge
• Minimum of two years of experience working in a leadership role in a residential camp environment.
• Demonstrated leadership ability including supervision of staff, developing and implementing staff training and support.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Current First Aid Certificate.

Camp Director – Camp ArrowFlight

Job Duties:

The Camp Director is responsible for the day-to-day operations, administration and leadership of Camp ArrowFlight. This includes the implementation of the camp business plan and creating revenue sources on a year round basis as well as managing program development and implementation. The Director is responsible for camper recruitment, meeting revenue targets and the management of the camps annual budget.

• Overall responsibility for the operation of a residential summer camp, retreat and environmental education centre
• Responsible for assisting in the development of a business plan and its implementation
• Oversee the development of the camps planning, promotion and implementation of developmentally age-appropriate outdoor activities and/or programs, for children, youth and families.
• Responsible for the financial management of the camp
• Responsible for the hiring, training, supervision and support of camp staff and volunteers
• Build positive relationships with children, families, staff and volunteers
• Oversees the management of the physical plant and its assets
• Actively participates in camp fundraising efforts

Qualifications:

• Ability to work independently
• Minimum of two years of supervisory experience
• Excellent leadership, communication, organization, decision making and judgment skills.
